Majorelle – Marrakech, Morocco. Art print. 10x12"

This is a fine art print of my original oil painting "Majorelle", inspired by a visit to the Jardin du Majorelle in Marrakech, Morocco. I'm a big plant lover and a big colour lover so this was possibly the best moment of the trip. The solid symmetrical shape of the pot and the geometry of the blue walls in contrast to the foliage and fronds of the plant and cactii drew me in, as did the bright yellow, blues and greens. The barely perceptible woman in the background added some sense of a narrative and a life lived among this beautifully created space. The garden itself was such a beautiful expression of both natural and human design.
